Gas Will Be With Us for a Long, Long Time
Regardless of the views that are currently prevalent in the media, including some energy experts, natural gas is the dominant fuel of the first half of the 21st century. After all, its growing share in the global energy mix is the best indicator that its future is not in doubt.
At the same time, natural gas is the foundation of domestic energy security, for which four factors are key: domestic production, a liquefied natural gas terminal, interconnections and underground gas storage.
These were the main highlights of the 25th, jubilee Forum on Gas, which gathered key participants in the gas chain, experts and scientists, businessmen and entrepreneurs, representatives of numerous gas, energy and power companies, relevant state authorities and institutions and professional associations on 26 February at the Antunović Congress Centre in Zagreb.
A series of interesting presentations and one on one interviews, a panel discussion and a round table were held, during which the increasing challenges in the gas industry were addressed, the regulatory framework and many other problems plaguing the gas and related professions were discussed, and some thoughts were expressed on the direction in which all this will develop in the years to come.
